Grade II listed house, East Sussex
This project began as a typical run down farmhouse, with major structural work to the oak frame undertaken. Our extensive knowledge of timber framed work allowed us to seamlessly repair the intricate structure.
A new central heating system had to be installed without ruining the existing qualities of the house and an extension was added to create a cinema room and period master en-suite bedroom.
Our restoration project was an enormous undertaking for us and not without some unforeseen problems. We had to work alongside English Heritage and Listed Buildings conservation teams and Adrian’s past experience of timber framed buildings meant that he was well equipped to answer their questions and assist in meeting their requirements.

Throughout the restoration Adrian never came to me with a problem; he would approach every ‘challenge’ with a couple of potential solutions offering detailed explanations with pros and cons. We have ended up with the most fabulous family home, which is much admired by friends and family. We have used Adrian for various other projects including a three bay timber garage with flat above and could not envisage using anyone else.
All the doors, windows and staircases had to be renewed and were supplied by our joinery workshop.
