Listed granary restoration

This listed two storey oak granary offered a fantastic opportunity and great challenge to re-create oak frame building work at its very best. Known to be one of Oliver Cromwell’s barracks, this historical building was in a sorry state and only standing due to the structural scaffolding supporting it. After carefully dismantling the structure, it took three months of intense work to replace and repair the beams under the cover of another farm building. The three dimensional puzzle was then re-erected and, with the use of some modern insulation techniques, restored to its former glory. Projects like this could not be considered without the close support and superior craftsmanship provided by the joinery workshop. Being able to offer our unique partnership is where we can excel as a company and allows us to successfully work on significant projects such as this.
